Description

Course on Lithium Batteries, organized into four main modules, each focusing on fundamental aspects of the oorja technology.

The first module will provide a comprehensive overview, illustrating the main advantages and disadvantages of batteries and offering an up-to-date view of the state of the art in the field.

In the second module, battery degradation, one of the most challenging issues, will be examined. Through simulations that combine hybrid approaches (Machine Learning and physical models), factors influencing performance deterioration under different operating conditions will be analyzed, along with techniques to mitigate these effects. Participants will learn to use data collected from battery cells to obtain accurate predictions of their performance and to analyze Capacity Fade, SEI, and Lithium Plating phenomena.

The third module will cover thermal management and the phenomenon of thermal runaway. Starting with data from individual cells, participants will explore how to predict and prevent the risks associated with battery overheating and thermal runaway through simulations under different operating conditions.

The course will conclude with a practical session, where participants can apply the knowledge acquired through exercises on hybrid models.
