Gear whining solution in a van mechanical transmission

Gear whining optimization

Date: 10 November 2021

Timetable: 15.30 - 16.00 CET

Speaker/s: Daniele Sacchi

Language: English

In the past the design of the gears in a mechanical transmission was mainly pointing to the strength, both bending and pitting.

Now the requests for the comfort of the powertrain are obliging the designer to increase the refinements about overall gearbox design and the micro-geometries of the teeth.

This webinar will show a very deep approach to solve claimed whining noise in a van gearbox.

Topics

  • Gears;

  • Tooth microgeometry;

  • LTCA;

  • Tooth Contact Analysis;

  • Side bands.
