EnginSoft recognized as a Key Innovator by the European Commission

EnginSoft has been recognized as a Key Innovator by the European Commission for its work in the OPTIMA project, which focused on developing a custom HPC solution for computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The company aims to provide custom CFD solvers for edge computing, enabling real-time simulation and analysis of complex fluid dynamics problems. The innovation has the potential to benefit various industries, including energy, transportation, and aerospace.

The OPTIMA project involved developing a hybrid CPU+FPGA system for Lattice-Boltzmann (LBM) code, which increased performance by 1.5-3 times compared to a CPU-only system. The company evaluated the performance of applications on the hybrid system and found that it performed best for medium-size models, both in terms of speed and energy savings. EnginSoft plans to build on its knowledge and expertise gained from the OPTIMA project to develop innovative solutions that meet the specific needs of its clients. The company will focus on expanding its capabilities in extreme scale computing, seamless hardware-software integration, and tackling complex network challenges. Additionally, it will evaluate and recommend energy-efficient solutions to the heterogeneous private cloud systems market and assess and propose embedded solutions for customized devices for the automotive and aerospace market.
