Description
In this course, participants will explore advanced Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis techniques used for extracting parasitic parameters, which are essential for the design and performance evaluation of both high and low-frequency electronic devices. This analysis method accurately extracts frequency-dependent parasitic parameters such as resistance, inductance, capacitance, and conductance (RLCG) for electronic devices. The 2D and 3D field solvers automatically generate circuit models for SPICE simulators and provide the necessary information for design processes. Its effectiveness is particularly evident in the advanced design of packages and connectors for high-speed electronic equipment. Additionally, it is applied in the development of high-power bus bars and components for power converters used in electrical distribution systems, power electronics, and electric drive systems.
The field post-processor enables the visualization of electric and magnetic fields in 2D and 3D, as well as current density, charge density, voltage, and other derived quantities. It also allows users to perform custom calculations on these quantities. The integrated Optimization module provides a method for parameterizing the geometry and material properties of a design, allowing users to explore the effects of varying these design parameters and conduct experimental tests and optimizations.
Target Audience
Electronic device simulation designers.
Prerequisites
None.
