Particleworks for Ansys: easier and better prediction of Air-Liquid flow and Heat Transfer

Combine Ansys Simulation Capabilities With Particleworks for Complicated Fluid Simulations

Date: April 7, 2020

Timetable: 11:00 CET

The combination of mesh-free liquid simulation techniques of Particleworks and Ansys Fluent aerodynamic results enables the simulation of fluid flow in very complex geometries in a short time.

Particleworks is a mesh-free, liquid-flow simulation software based on the moving particle simulation (MPS) method, which is capable of complicated fluid simulations such as free surface flows, liquid jets and sprays, lubrication, sloshing and highly viscous flows.

The coupling between Particleworks and Ansys dramatically improves the design process also for liquid-structure interaction and in heat transfer cases, like IC engine and e-motors cooling.

Particleworks for Ansys is a direct interface between Particleworks mesh-free liquid simulation and the Ansys suite. It makes complex simulation processes easier.

Comparing cooling methods for e-motors

A simulation methodology developed by TotalEnergies

In this paper, we will present the methodology developed by TotalEnergies and EnginSoft to select, design and improve an e-motor by simulating and predicting electromagnetic losses, fluid flow behaviour and temperature distributions.
