Handling Flexible Bodies in RecurDyn Multibody Simulation Technology

Date: 16 March 2021

Timetable: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM CT

Speaker/s: Fabiano Maggio

Language: English

Why do most engineers assume rigid behavior? Because without the right software tools, including flexibility can turn a simple, well behaved, dynamic system into a significant modeling challenge. As rigid components are converted to flexible the workflow can be tedious and prone to human error. Degrees of freedom go from a handful to several thousand and without the right solver solutions are not accurate or too slow to be useful.

In this webinar Dr. Fabiano Maggio will explain why flexible components are necessary in your multi-body simulations, the different approaches for accomplishing this, and how today’s tools can make the process easier and more accurate.

Topics

  • When and Why including flexible bodies in multibody dynamics models;

  • Getting the flexible bodies in RecurDyn;

  • Full Flex formulation of flexible bodies;

  • Modal Reduction formulation of flexible bodies;

  • An example that is worth a thousand words.

Using CAE simulation to verify the structural safety and performance of a two-wheeler’s driving mechanism

Coupled simulation methods enables more accurate evaluation

In this article, we describe how Piaggio used computer-assisted engineering simulation to evaluate the structural safety, performance and dynamic behavior of the driving mechanism of a two-wheeled vehicle under both normal and spurious operating conditions, specifically static and fast dynamic conditions.
