Understand the condensation phenomena and humid air treatment in an HVAC system

Date: April 28, 2020

Timetable: 10:15 CET

Speaker/s: Erik Mazzoleni

Language: English

An important part in the design of HVAC systems is to understand the humidity and condensation phenomena that occurs, as the system is used to ensure the air quality for civil and industrial buildings, as well as aircrafts and ships.

The webinar will show how an HVAC system can easily be modelled to include all the components like condensers, filters, fans and channels using System level thermal-fluid flow simulation solution, Flownex. The case study will demonstrate how air humidity is taken into account and the amount of condensed water is calculated to understand the system behavior.

Discover how Flownex is used to ensure reliable of the system design in this example, showing how the control of the dehumidification process will enable a reduction of energy consumption and prevent unexpected condensation phenomena for critical parts of the system.

Moreover, local heat dissipations, temperatures and humidity values are highlighted.

Analysis of the thermo-fluid dynamics of a paint shop’s hot water distribution network

This article describes an analysis of the performance of a hot water distribution piping network consisting of a main boiler and various utilities inside an automotive paint shop based in France. The simulation is performed using Flownex, a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software with concentrated parameters.
