The aim of this study was to find the best quality glass-clamping system, through parametric model optimization, for a new pyrolytic self-cleaning oven by Indesit. Like all pyrolytic self-cleaning ovens the pyrolysis process causes the oxidization of spills and dirt in the oven at temperatures of 450°to 500°C reducing them to ashes. This process produces a high thermal gradient which considerably deforms the glass and can cause ruptures. Learn more ...
The scope of this study was to determine and validate a more efficient simulation procedure for the design phase of Al-Si alloy components for the aeronautical industry. The study combines the simulation of the manufacturing process with that of the component’s structural behavior to create a better predictive tool that is able to analyze the component’s behavior over its life cycle. The objective of the study was to develop a finite element model to simulate the then current ring rolling process at ASFO Spa in order to match the level of post manufacturing defects encountered. The model was then used to produce a number of “what if” scenarios in order to find an optimal forging sequence that would substantially reduce defects incurred. Learn more ...
